Story
Chandramukhi’s husband Jayaram is a wealthy industrialist with a string of companies. He has a beautiful wife, a son and a daughter. But he is a good-for-nothing and hardly leaves the house. He spends the whole day doing different things in the house and at work, so that there is no time left for his family. He wants to do good for the family but does not know how to. He comes home to his wife, Shweta, with a briefcase full of cash. He says that he has earned it and will spend it to make his family’s life a bit better. But it turns out that this money is not just for the family, but for a casino. To keep up appearances, he helps others cheat in the casinos too.
Jayaram meets a low life loan shark named Raju who loans him money on interest, and takes up a job at his casino for the sake of keeping up appearances. On returning home, he finds that Shweta has run away and left his family.

Shweta helps Chandramukhi escape. She hides the ticket for her friend’s flight in Chandramukhi’s luggage. Meanwhile, Chandramukhi’s son Chandan also becomes suspicious and starts a close watch on Shweta.
Chandramukhi, Shweta and Chandan all travel together and arrive safely at their home. Raju is waiting there for them. Jayaram has a heart attack and dies. His son is furious. Chandan is hurt by his father’s death and blames his mother for betraying her husband. Shweta and Chandramukhi are in a dilemma. Shweta is not ready to live in the house where her husband was murdered.
Chandramukhi finds Chandan beating her. He puts an end to the fight and takes Shweta to their home. On returning home, Chandramukhi is horrified to find her husband killed. She is devastated and distraught. She locks herself in a room and refuses to speak or even eat.
